Women: Get enriched at the well starting Sept. 11

The 2007-2008 “Women at the Well” series at Church of the Holy Spirit begins September 11. Will you join us? Be sure to mark your calendars. You won’t want to miss any of these programs, co-sponsored by Church of the Holy Spirit and Alexian Brothers Hospital Network!

Now in its third season, the “Women at the Well” meetings average more than 100 attendees per meeting. The programs are designed specifically for Christian women of all denominations.

§  Tues., Sept. 11:  Joy and Laughter:  Music of the Heart. Speaker, Sr. Jane Schlosser, explains how humor and joy can give our lives balance, while keeping us from experiencing compassion fatigue and hardening of attitudes. (More about Jane follows below.)

§  Tues., Nov. 13:  Stress Relief through Self Hypnosis.

§  Tues., Jan. 15:  Claiming Your Energetic Power: Using and Trusting Your Intuition.

§  Tues., March 4:  Journey of Life.

§  Tues., May 6:  Spirituality of Gardening.

Each evening includes a gathering, a centering prayer, and a light supper graciously served by the Hoffman-Schaumburg Knights of Columbus. Women relax and enjoy tasty desserts, while the speaker of that evening’s event gives the presentation.

Our first presenter, Jane Schlosser, is a Sister of Mercy, with ministerial experience in teaching, religious education, liturgical and sacramental work and pastoral work in the parish setting. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, a Master’s in Religious Education, a certificate in Spiritual Direction, and Doctorate in Ministry. She is a staff member of the Carmelite Spiritual Center in Darien, IL, and gives retreats, workshops, and days of renewal. She’s considered an organized, lively, humorous, and thoughtful presenter.
