Fr. George gets the Pope John XXIII award

Fr. George Kane, founding pastor of Church of the Holy Spirit, received the Pope John XXIII Award from the Association of Chicago Priests (ACP). He was honored at a Jan. 27 dinner at St. Ignatius High School; many parishioners attended.

Each year, ACP members elect a local priest whom they believe best ministers in the spirit of Pope John XXIII and the Second Vatican Council.

Among Fr. George’s long list of achievements are many adult education programs to train parishioners to accept more leadership in carrying out the mission of Jesus through the life and ministries of the parish.
