Fr. George gets the Pope John XXIII award Fr. George Kane, founding pastor of Church of the Holy Spirit, received the Pope John XXIII Award from the Association of Chicago Priests (ACP). He was honored at a Jan. 27 dinner at St. Ignatius High School; many parishioners attended. Each year, ACP members elect a local priest whom they believe best ministers in the spirit of Pope John XXIII and the Second Vatican Council.

Hungry to help? Feed my people By LAVERNE HORGAN 2007 was a very successful year for the CHS Food Pantry. We were able to give food to 483 families who used the pantry a total of 1,645 times. Some families used the pantry only once or twice; some used it on a regular, monthly basis.
